Lucia Sinapi-Thomas

Business Platforms CEO

Lucia Sinapi-Thomas Lucia Sinapi is the CEO of Business Platforms (IBAS, IDMS & Prosodie), a unit created in Jan 2016. She started her career as a tax and business lawyer in 1986, before joining Capgemini in 1992. She has more than 20 years of experience within Capgemini Group, successively as Group Tax Advisor (92), in charge of Corporate Finance, Treasury and Investors Relations (1999), extended to Risk Management and Insurance (2005), and member of the Group Engagement Board. Lucia has been appointed as Group Deputy CFO in 2013. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Cap Gemini SA (05/2012), Bureau Veritas SA (05/2013), and Dassault Aviation SA (05/2014). Lucia graduated from ESSEC business school (86) and Paris Law University (88), was admitted to the Paris bar (89), and has a financial analyst degree (SFAF 97).

Anup Kumar

Business Platforms EVP/ Head of IBAS

Anup Kumar Anup is the President of the Insurance TPA business on a global basis through the TPA entity called CHCS Services Inc (subsidiary of Capgemini Americas). Anup has joined Capgemini from EXL Service and brings in over two decades of industry experience in BPO and Operations executive roles, primarily in Financial Services, Insurance and Healthcare verticals. He has played diverse roles over the years with firms such as HSBC, ING, Hewitt, iGate-Patni and EXL as board member, P&L Leader, Global Head of Sales, Global Head of Operations/COO, TPA Head for Senior health/Pensions, Geography Head, Global Head of Product Development and Operations Consulting, etc. In his sales capacity, Anup has managed global sales teams and provided executive leadership on large integrated “IT+BPO” transactions ranging from $25 million to $500 million in TCV. Anup built the BPO side of Patni’s business and led the global sales and solutions team for Tech Mahindra BPO. In his most immediate role, Anup headed a significant part of EXL’s global business covering Americas, Europe and South Africa. He is a software engineer from The Technological Institute of Textiles & Sciences (Birla Institute) and has a Masters in Finance from Delhi University. He is based out of Boston.

Tomasz Balcerek

Head of Operations – IBAS

Thomasz Balcerek Thomasz has been with Capgemini Group since 2004. Since August 2016 as COO for IBAS – Insurance Business Unit with licensed TPA in charge of transforming and running operations for prestigious Insurance Companies. He has also served as CEO Brazil Business Services, Brazil Delivery Centers Director, Capgemini Internal Services Transformation Leader, Head of Global Transition Team in charge of leading the Transition organization within Capgemini BPO, Engagement Director in charge of portfolio of Capgemini Clients, Transition Director for one of International Chemical Corporations in charge of Transforming over 600FTEs worldwide, with transition budget over 12million USD. Also along the Transition role responsible for Service Delivery out of Guatemala, Brazil, Poland, China Center (250+ FTEs) as well as being in charge of establishing the Service Desk and Procurement Desk operations. He holds a PhD in finance from the University of Economics in Krakow, an MBA in Financial Engineering and Banking from the Silesian International Business School in Katowice (University of Economics in Katowice, University of Silesia in Katowice and Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Toulouse), as well as Masters degree in economics, Finance and Banking - Corporate finance, from the University of Economics in Krakow. He is also a Licensed Securities Accountant under Polish National Clearing House.

Umesh Chandorkar

Head of IT – IBAS

Umesh Chandorkar Umesh is a seasoned IT executive with more than 28 years of experience in the IT Services, with specific focus on Insurance industry. In his current role he is responsible for IBAS IT Platforms support and delivering successful transitions. For over two decades he has been focusing on Life and Health Insurance Industry delivering complex transformation programs for US, UK and South African insurance customers. He is well versed with TPA Industry and has created technology solutions to enhance TPA proposition and competitiveness in the market. He has delivered large close book transformation programs for US customers through a combination of process and technology solutions with emphasis on digitalization of paper, process automation using BPM technologies and use of Web technologies. Umesh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics with post graduate diploma in Computer Science.

Aashish Jain

Head of Strategy – IBAS

Aashish Jain Aashish is the head of Strategy for CHCS Services. With over 14 years of experience in the US Life and Health Insurance markets, Aashish is responsible for driving the go to market strategies, strategic solutions and partnerships to facilitate growth of the business. In his current role, He has been key to architecting TPA operating models as solutions to insurer problem statements for supplementary Health and Life product lines. He has held a multitude of leadership roles within the organization including leading customer experience, industrialization and oversight of complex multi-year transformation programs. Most recently, he was charged with assisting in defining the technology roadmap based on industry trends and implementation of strategic initiatives like analytics and robotics across the TPA services portfolio. Aashish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Mumbai University in India and a number of designations from AHIP.

Barbara Grassie

Head of Solutions – IBAS

Barbara Grassie Barbara has over 35 years of experience in the Life Insurance Industry at the corporate, regional and agency level in both the business and IT arenas. She has worked in the areas of Life Insurance, Annuities, Medicare Supplement and Long Term Care Insurance. As Director of Solutions, she is experienced in platform and product assessments, and solutioning of business processes via technology, standardization and optimization. She has been a major participant and stakeholder in 3 major TPA acquisitions and transformation projects totaling over 1,000,000 policies of both Life and LTC. Barbara has worked and helped design Illustration, New Business, Underwriting and Claims systems for Life and Health companies. In the area of LTC claims she has helped develop a claim payment system that automates many of the calculations and manages the payments to the plan of care, using business and processing rules resulting in a significant reduction in manual errors. She has also worked with companies to create their business requirements and build the product and processing rules for their claims processes and LTC products.

Shashank Tayal

Head of Sales – IBAS

Shashank Tayal Shashank leads our Sales and Marketing team for the Capgemini TPA unit. He is also responsible for our advisors and analysts relationships, partnerships, marketing events and works closely with solutions team to define new market offerings. Shashank has over 20 years of experience in the Life & Health Insurance industry and has helped F500 clients with strategic Operations and Technology initiatives. He has played multiple roles during his career and has led large Transformational programs, managed strategic client relationships and incubated new business units. He is an MBA in finance and holds a Mechanical Engineering degree. He is also a certified Professional from Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM).

Rajeev Batra

Head of Account Management – IBAS

Rajeev Batra Rajeev is Vice President and Head of Account Management for the Insurance and Healthcare TPA Unit for Capgemini. His responsibilities include client relationships, client satisfaction, solutions development, sales, analyst relations, and brand management for the TPA unit. He has expertise in Life, Annuities, Long Term Care, Medicare Supplement, and P&C segments and am passionate to build integrated platform solutions for these segments. His experience also includes serving as Vice President & Global Insurance Practice Leader , AVP & Group Manager of Client Services, Financial Services & Insurance, and Associate Vice President of Insurance Practice in Information Technology and Services.

Rebecca Tedjeske

Head of Compliance - IBAS

Rebecca Tedjeske Rebecca is the Compliance Director, US TPA Business, for Capgemini. Her specialties are product knowledge encompassing Life and Health Insurance, as well as Property and Casualty. These lines include both group and individual product types. She is responsible for the maintenance of compliant processes and procedures and developing strong relationships with business units, Insurance Regulators and clients. This also includes participation and direction of new product development and distribution, as well as maintaining the integrity of product offerings and enhancing oversight. Rebecca holds a B.S. in Finance from Kean University, along with industry designations including Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), Associate, Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC), Associate, Insurance Agency Administration (AIAA), Associate, Reinsurance Administration (ARA), and Certified Compliance Professional (CCP). Her Core Competencies include Insurance Regulatory Compliance, Quality Management and Measurement, Risk Identification and Mitigation, People Leadership, and Internal and External Audit Coordination and Execution
